Steve has a 32-year career in banking with the last 22 years in senior and executive management positions. He served as President and CEO of the Franklin Lamoille Bank until retirement in 2002. He has been active in Economic Development throughout his career serving on numerous boards such as the Franklin County Industrial Development Corporation for 22 years, with 14 years as Chairperson. Steve further serves on the Vermont Economic Development Authority having been a member since 1988, the longest term held by anyone in Vermont history. During this tenure, he served as Board Chair for 3 terms and is expected to become Board Chair again in 2005. Steve serves as an Economic Advisor to Governor Jim Douglas and as an advisor to the Commissioner of Economic Development on Business Recruitment and Retention matters. He has been a member of the Northwestern Medical Center Board of Directors serving as Chair. He was Chairman of the Vermont Bankers Association and was recognized as the Outstanding Banker of the Year by the Vermont Bankers Association and received the Presidential Award for Excellence by the Vermont Development Economic Authority.
